Monthly Archives: April 2012

Hello San Fran!

Its my first trip to California in 8 years and my first time with a camera in hand. The weather is amazing! Its sunny and not too hot and the gardens are starting to bloom. My location for the next month is pretty fantastic. The house I am staying in neighbors a woman who is a professional chef. My first night here she invited us over for homemade pizza in her Italian oven. Much more on Terri in later posts.

Yesterday we took a trip to Treasure Island for the famous flea market. There were great views of the Bay Bridge and The Golden Gate. Here is a view of Bay Bridge from Treasure Island. The flowers in bloom.

Paris rooftops in the Winter

I love all the unique rooftops in Paris. The architecture, the detailed windows, and I love the chimneys. I can only imagine how beautiful they look on the inside.

Join me for the next 30 days as I travel and photograph the San Francisco/Bay Area! If you have any recommendations on places to explore or eat I would love to hear them.

Boats in the Tulleries

First off I just want to say thanks for all your wonderful feedback lately. I really love hearing what you guys think!

I have always seen the beautiful wooden boats in Luxembourg Gardens but my most recent trip to Paris I came across them in the Tulleries. I was having a picnic in the Tulleries on a brisk winter morning and I look up to find this adorable older man with a cart full of wooden boats. Which boat would you choose?

In the distance la tour eiffel

My first trip to Paris to photograph I couldn’t wait to explore the city. I set off with my camera and just started walking. When I started to see the eiffel tower I kept following it. Not knowing what streets I was walking down or the easiest way to get there. I just wondered the streets and explored my new surroundings. When I looked up there she was in the distance. I love this photograph because nature and architecture frames the eiffel tower perfectly.

Crazy for Peonies!

I love the markets in France. They are filled with beautiful fresh flowers for sale. Peonies were everywhere on my trip last summer. I am crazy for peonies. I am looking forward to filling my home with them soon! These photographs are from the South of France Markets.

Early Morning on The Canal in Venice

Ride the Grand Canal in Venice, Italy early in the morning for a beautiful view of the city.

classic Burano Italy

If you haven’t visited Burano, Italy you should check it out on your next visit to Venice, Italy.  Its a quick boat ride away from Venice and well worth it. The houses are all different colors and everyone takes pride in their house. The windows and doors are decorated to match the houses. I came across this house that had the laundry hanging outside and the bike parked out front. Classic Burano, Italy
