One week to go!

It seems as though I was just talking about my idea to live in France with family and friends not too long ago. I leave in just one week from today. My to do list grows by the day and I am trying to not get to overwhelmed. Ready or not I am getting on the plane and headed off for my next adventure. I plan on doing a lot of walking and exploring the hidden streets and cafes with my camera. I can’t wait for you to come along with me on my journey. Thanks for following!

Paris Metro in Black and White

I am working a project for Brasserie 54 who own LM here in Chicago. The Paris Metro is a great way to get around the city. I found it extremely easy to use and some of the metro stations are done beautifully. I can’t wait to explore the city once again in just a few days!

Paris countdown

Its less than two weeks away and I leave for my adventure for Paris. There are so many things I can’t wait to do while I am in Paris. Stroll the Seine, sit in a cafe, eat a croissant, visit the markets. What would be the first thing you would do if you landed in Paris tomorrow?

Good things come in all size packages

My work launched at Pottery Barn a little over a week ago and the glow has not left my face. I am beyond thrilled to be working with such a great company. My friends at Pottery Barn sent me a package today of one of my framed pieces so I could see the finished product. I received the green subway framed with a mat and black frame. It also came with a small bio about me. The presentation was so well done and I am so pleased how it all turned out! I have it proudly displayed in my office alongside a framed page of the Pottery Barn catalog.

How it all began…

A little more than 10 years ago I decided to study abroad. I wanted and applied to study in Paris and my Dad told me NO! So I switched to study abroad in Florence. At that point in my life I didn’t have a choice and I am not complaining! My Dad likes to remind me that it all worked out in the end… I get to “study” abroad this year in Paris šŸ˜‰

10 years ago almost exactly to the day I left for London and then off to Siena a small town in Tuscany. My school sent us here for 3 weeks intensive language in Italian before moving to Florence. In Siena there is a square in the middle of the town called Piazza del Campo. My friends and I climbed the many stairs to the top for the breathtaking view of the town. It is here where I fell in love with Italy… My passion for Italy grew over the next couple months as I traveled throughout the country from the North to the South. I made great friends that semester and I am so grateful for the opportunity.

It was after my semester abroad that I decided I wanted to do what I love (travel and take pictures) and find a way to make a living at it. 6 years almost exactly I opened my etsy shop. I would like to say the rest is history, but that would be way to easy! Its been a lot of hard work, sweat, and tears to get me where I am today. Looking forward to Paris in 2013 and THE BEST IS YET TO COME!!

New Years Walk on the beach

I started the New Year off with a walk on the beach. I couldn’t think of a better way to start 2013 then to dip my feet in the ocean and feel the sand between my toes. The sound of the waves crashing was so calming and the water was cool in the warm sun. One of my New Years Goals is to take time away from technology (ie my iphone) and take a little more time for myself. Work hard… play harder!

These next few weeks I will be getting ready for my big move to Paris. Only a few short weeks to go. Enjoy the images and wishing all of you a very Happy and Healthy 2013!
