Climbing the stairs in Paris

11

There is something about Parisian stairs that get me. Last year I lived on the 6th floor and I challenged myself to climb up and down the stairs and unless I absolutely had to I never took the lift. This lift fit me and my suitcase. When I am exploring Parisian courtyards and friends apartments I can’t help but check out the staircases. Here are a few.

What a beautiful building! I live on the 4th floor of an old brownstown in Brooklyn. I wish I had an elevator, or “lift” when it comes time for me to bring up the laundry. Enduring a walk up six flights of stairs sounds like quite a feat. Great photography, btw.

Rebecca, I love the idea that you took off and rented a Paris apartment for 3 months. Now you are back, fabulous! I lived there for 3 years after quitting my job years ago. It never leaves you. I just read a quote in the book “Le Flaneur”, paraphrasing, “walks around Paris”. The quote states “once you have lived in Paris, you can’t live anywhere else. Not even Paris.” Love it and thanks for your beautiful pics!

Thank you so much for your sweet words! Paris is under my skin and will always be. Its funny I dream about Paris even when I am in Paris. Its such an amazing experience. You are so lucky you spent three years there. Love the quote!
