Planning 2015 with my own Paris Planner

14

Its crazy to think that a year ago I was working on a planner for 2015 but its true. Paper products are planned far in advance just as my stationary set. Since this is my first planner I didn’t exactly know when it would hit stores and who would be buying it. While in Papyrus in Soho a few weeks ago when I spotted my stationary set I was walking around and stumbled upon my planner. I cannot even explain the excitement I first felt when I held it. Its been an absolute dream to have my work in print available across the country and to have it available in Papyrus is amazing!

While in Soho I stopped by the coffee spot Happy Bones sat down and started planning 2015!

Stationary now available at Papyrus

It has been 6 years since I was laid off. I remember clearly that Summer sitting on a bench in the park and making plans for what was next. I wanted to be a travel photographer and one of my goals was to have a card in Papyrus. Last year that dream came true with my first card! I was lucky enough to work with Papyrus again to make a box set of 4 assorted images. While in Soho this past weekend I popped in to see if it had hit stores and I was so happy to see it sitting on the shelves. I will admit I started crying tears of joy. Dreams don’t work unless you do! xo

Ways to beat the heat in NYC

4

My last visit to NYC the temperature was around 100 degrees. It was terrible! I visited with my Dad and we had to pop into to different spots just to keep cool. This year the temperature was cooler but it was still summer weather. I decided to pull together some of my favorite picks for places to beat the heat in NYC.

10. Yoga in Bryant Park. I am a huge fan of yoga as I do it regularly and was so excited to see mats being set up in Bryant Park. Classes are available Tuesday and Thursday check the schedule for times

This adorable ice cream shop just opened up in Soho. They have multiple types of vanilla and chocolate amongst many other flavors. More info here

7. If you have a sweet tooth but don’t want ice cream you can find any of your favorite past childhood candys at Economy Candy. Get ready to bring back a lot of memories from your childhood. This place is so much fun and stays cool!

7. I loved exploring the West Village with a friend of mine popping into all the adorable shops. This beautiful Perfume shop has every candle and perfume you could imagine. Aedes de Venustas New York I felt like I was back in Paris.

6. Buvettes – staying in the West Village if you start to get hungry you can stop by Buvettes. I am not sure how I missed this place all this time. I felt like I was back in Paris the minute I stepped inside. I cooled off with a salmon tartine and a tall glass of fresh lemonade. Even the straws are cute! This place stays open until 2am so there is no reason not to try it. I can’t wait to go back again!

5. Hamiltons – This adorable old soda/ice cream shop just opened up last week. I stumbled upon it while walking through the West Village. I have been begging for someone to open one of these up and finally someone did and they did it well! Ice cream sodas, banana splits and more are on this menu.

4. If you have had your fill on food its time to explore a little outside. If you are up for it you can head over to Brooklyn Bridge Park in Dumbo. After all the walking I did this past weekend I had to throw in some extra yoga.

3. Right next to Brooklyn Bridge Park you can hop on Jane’s carousel for a beautiful view of the water and city. At only $2 a ride what’s not to love?

2. Central Park Boats – My lovely friend Taylor had me walking around a different part of central Park I had not seen before. We saw these super cute boats you could rent and send them around the water. It made me feel like I was back in Paris at Luxembourg Gardens.

1. Central Park Stroll – if you aren’t into the boats you can always just stroll through Central Park and people watch. We had so much fun doing it last week!

This past long weekend I was in NYC for meetings and to photograph one of my favorite cities. I kept a very busy schedule but was able to meet up with some friends that were so kind to show me their city. I had a little time on the weekend to spend catching up with my Aunt and Uncle where my Aunt cooked the most amazing ravioli from scratch. I napped in the hammock while the sunset and we spent hours in the kitchen catching up while we cooked. I have a lot of catching up to do with getting out orders and editing in my free time. I hope to share some photos of my favorite places soon!

Playing catch up!

Recently I was with a friend who asked me if I journaled. Well the answer is yes, but since I have the blog I feel like I document a lot of stuff here. But I realized I didn’t have time to journal or blog lately! Life has been a little crazy lately which for most people it slows down in the summer. I am working on some exciting new plans for 2015. Fingers crossed they all work out! I am headed to NYC for meetings and to photograph one of my favorite cities. I have a running list of food spots I want to check out. Most of the spots on my list are French food places that they happen to have in NYC. A few include Eric Keyser where my baguette was typically from in Paris, Maison du chocolate I have had a strong craving for chocolate with praline, and Laduree of course.

Along with some french favorites I am looking forward to trying new restaurants, meeting up with old and new friends, and of course exploring the city. If you have any NYC recommendations please send them my way! I had to the big apple next week!

Until then I will be at Buffalo Grove Art Festival this weekend. Booth 147.
