In the past couple of years I have been visiting NYC in the Summer. They have turned out to be some of the hottest days of the whole year. This time around I decided to visit NYC in the Winter hoping for snow. More specifically I was really hoping to see Central Park in the snow. Part of my trip didn’t turn out as planned but I was thrilled to see snow in Central Park. Monday my flight ended up being cancelled due to freezing rain, hail and snow. The park wasn’t a foot deep in snow but it was still beautiful. This time around NYC experienced some of the coldest days I have felt in a long time. Photographing is not so easy with gloves on my hands hurt for a while even after returning to warmth. I walked from the Upper East Side through the Park to the Plaza. I think it was worth the pain in my hands to be able to capture this beauty. What do you think?

Never Forget
0It was 13 years ago when the twin towers fell from the terrorist attacks on 9/11. I was in my second year of college at Indiana University my college roommate at the time was a journalism major and had the routine of watching the news in the morning. While getting dressed for our morning class my roommate came into my room to tell me the news. We watch the news with blank faces and goosebumps, tears in our eyes. It feels like it was yesterday. Never forget the thousands of people that died on that day and all of the families that were affected then and now from a terrible tragedy. Tell the people you care about that you love them and hold your family close.
Stationary now available at Papyrus
11It has been 6 years since I was laid off. I remember clearly that Summer sitting on a bench in the park and making plans for what was next. I wanted to be a travel photographer and one of my goals was to have a card in Papyrus. Last year that dream came true with my first card! I was lucky enough to work with Papyrus again to make a box set of 4 assorted images. While in Soho this past weekend I popped in to see if it had hit stores and I was so happy to see it sitting on the shelves. I will admit I started crying tears of joy. Dreams don’t work unless you do! xo
Thank you NYC
2This past long weekend I was in NYC for meetings and to photograph one of my favorite cities. I kept a very busy schedule but was able to meet up with some friends that were so kind to show me their city. I had a little time on the weekend to spend catching up with my Aunt and Uncle where my Aunt cooked the most amazing ravioli from scratch. I napped in the hammock while the sunset and we spent hours in the kitchen catching up while we cooked. I have a lot of catching up to do with getting out orders and editing in my free time. I hope to share some photos of my favorite places soon!
The first chicago train vs NYC train
0The first Chicago “L” was created in 1893 which was gas and not electric until 1898. Before 1900 steam engines pulled trains. This NYC train is from 1907. Notice the similarities between the two. Which do you like better?
