Paris Bound…starting this Monday

4

I didn’t plan it but I always hoped to be back in Paris this year. After leaving in June I knew I would settle down with a home base. Something I have struggled with for a long time. I am slowly adjusting to life in Chicago getting a little more settled everyday. But then I got an email with an invitation to Paris. Who would say no?

Paris in the Autumn Last year I left at the beginning of November ready to start my busy holiday season. I am squeezing in one last trip. 8 days which is the shortest Paris trip I have taken since 2012. This trip I am staying with family and I am so excited to see them. I am looking forward to catching up with old friends and exploring the city with a new set of eyes. It always helps going away for awhile. As much as I hate it… its good creatively to have a new approach. I have been working on a project for a few months now so there will be lots of research and photos to go along with it. Rodin Museum Gardens

0

The past few visits in Paris the gardens in the Rodin Museum have been under construction. Parts have been open but it hasn’t been free of construction for a while. This past visit I was thrilled to be able to walk around the gardens and enjoy the greenery and warm weather. If you get a chance to visit the inside admission is 5 euros I believe but its only 1 euro to visit the gardens. I would add it to your list!

Overnight Fall

8

We had the most beautiful warm October here in Paris. I have heard rumors it was the warmest on record for a long while. It was an extended Indian Summer. Just last week I took photos on the Seine and it was dress weather! Overnight the weather turned chilly this week as the calendar changed to November. It tends to do that. I explored a new little area of Montmartre yesterday before the rain and cold came in. I just adore this little street.

Watching the Seasons Change in Palais Royal

5

Palais Royal is tucked behind the Louvre and the Tulleries. I used to dismiss it on the map and never made a point to visit. Now, its one of my favorite places in Paris to people watch. This month I was able to watch the seasons change as I walked through the garden. I will treasure these moments and thank goodness for me the pictures will bring me great memories for years to come.

Towards the end of the month they clipped the trees and the leaves were gone.

St Germain Strolling

0

I woke up to rain in Paris. It surprises me how much rain can actually fall in one city… I walk everyday no matter what so I didn’t let it stop me. We luckily had a few hours of sunshine this afternoon where I strolled through Ile St Louis picked up some raspberry ice cream from Berthillon and made my way to St Germain.

I have talked about the season in Paris before but its really interesting to see the way the trees frame the architecture. In the Spring you will notice certain buildings because of the blossoms, in the winter the trees are bare and the architecture looks completely different. With the changing of the leaves my eye bounces from one building to the next as the greens and reds contrast the blues and grays of Paris.
