After a month of beautiful California weather with no rain, I am back in Chicago where it is pouring and on the cold side. My first show is tomorrow so setup was pushed until tomorrow morning. Hopefully the rain stops by tomorrow morning so we can have nice weather. I love photographing in the rain but today there is too much work to be done before tomorrow. Here are a few of my photographs from rainy days in London, New York, and Paris. Where is your favorite place to be when it rains?

I came across this cafe in the Marais. There are so many reasons why I love it. Inside there is a back room that is quaint with coffee table books and a huge bookshelf. You could spend hours in here! On the outside you can grab a chair outside and enjoy the people watching. Park your bike and stay a while!
I recently finished the book “Lunch in Paris” it follows a woman’s love story with her husband and Paris food. Elizabeth fill the book with detailed descriptions of life in Paris and the French food creates and includes amazing recipes after each chapter. If I could have lunch in Paris today this is where I would sit.
Grab a newspaper and a seat early in the morning at this cafe in Paris, France. Located just of the Grenelle metro stop is this beautiful cafe with green wicker chairs. Make sure to arrive early because as the day goes on this cafe is packed with Parisians drinking coffee and eating delicious crepes. I had the opportunity to visit this cafe in the evening. I was lucky enough to find a spot at the bar because the restaurant was packed. The busy kitchen was hard at work while the bartender entertained me and others while we waited. Sweet hot crepes past by me on the way to the tables in the front. The smells filled the air as the waiters swiftly past by. This place is on my list to return to on my next visit to Paris.
I found this adorable cafe on the corner in the Marais in Paris. I was caught in the rain and had to stop to photograph it. I loved the writing of the specials on the windows behind the tables. It looks like the perfect table for two! I was lucky enough to visit this cafe later in the evening which made for great people watching. Its a few blocks from the Seine so there were lots of people of all types walking by. I recommend it if you are in the area.
