I have spent every season in Paris. Between trips back and forth over the years I have covered them all. I have spent more time in Paris during some seasons and less in others, Winter being the longest season. I didn’t plan it that way it has just happened. The city changes so much from season to season. During the Winter its mostly locals and a few tourists. Its one of my favorite times to be in the city. You rarely have to fight crowds, you can usually find a spot on the terrace under the heater at a a cafe, and the city looks different without all the greenery. You can actually see the rooftops and the haussman buildings along the seine. As Springtime comes those trees fill with buds and bright green leaves pretty quickly. Here are a few of my favorite winter scenes in Paris.

I have been to NYC several times but never had a chance to visit Bryant Park. I stopped here for a few minutes on my last trip to NYC and fell in love. Its so peaceful and beautiful. I could sit here for hours. I love that they have movies in the park and yoga here. If I lived in NYC this would be my place. My Aunt says she comes here in the morning to read the newspaper in the summer.
My eye immediately was drawn to the beautiful carousel in a blue green color with large butterflies. It blends in to the greenery of the park but the gold lights catch your eye.
I grew up loving carousels because my grandmother had a carousel horse in her living room. On my trip to Europe this summer carousels filled Spain and France. I started a series of carousels during my travels. Here are a few of my favorites from Barcelona, Montpelier, and Paris. All can be purchased on my website click on the photo for the direct link to my etsy shop.

Every time I am in Paris, I try to leave something undiscovered for my next trip. I knew this year I wanted to do a series of carousels. There are a lot more in Paris than you may think. There are two at the eiffel tower right across from each other! So it begins my series of carousels in the city of lights and Europe. Where is your favorite carousel?
Growing up my grandmother had an antique carousel horse in her living room. As a child, my sister and I used to play on the carousel horse when we went to visit. Now that I am older, when I see a carousel it reminds me of my childhood and puts a smile on my face. Here is a recent carousel photograph from my travels. Stay tuned for more carousels this week!
