Hello Summer

5

It was a year ago this time I was in Italy. I spent ten days from the south to the north exploring the country. It was so hard to leave Paris this time but I guess that happens every trip. I arrived to Positano and in my mind was thinking that nothing could feel quite like Paris. That was until I walked along the shore in Positano and when I looked up saw the most amazing view of Positano just as the sun was setting. I surrendered at this point and decided okay Positano you got me! I fell head over heels for this place. I went alone and yes this place is swarming with honeymooning couples so I did feel a little out of place but I let that go quickly. One thing no one told me is that Italy is filled with Jasmine in the summer. Everywhere you turn is just the most fragrant delicious scent. Its intoxicating. You mix this with the smell of the sea and I am just in heaven. It would be my signature scent if I could create one (hint!)

So many people have been asking when I will be back in Paris. The truth is I am not sure of my next trip. I have been in Paris in October the last three years but I don’t know if that will happen this year. I am working on another project that I just pitched that could bring me back to Europe in September. Fingers crossed please!! It would be a dream come true.

But quite honestly this is where I want to be this Summer. Wouldn’t you agree. Sand in my toes, sea salt in my hair and a spritz in my hand. Can you blame me?

Yesterday I picked up a few more items for summer including the most comfortable pair of white jeans ever! A new bathing suit from and a hat for LA!

Happy First Day of Fall

2

It may not seem like Fall today it rarely does. Autumn in Paris is a magical time filled with pops of color around the city. From yellow to red its a color show not to be missed. Walk through the Tulleries, Luxembourg gardens or find a hidden spot in the Marais like this one. I will be seeing Paris in the fall very soon. But until then here is a photograph to get you in the Fall spirit.

The last few weeks I have been on the move and in between spending time with family.  I have been busy balancing work and planning for this next trip to Paris. I am also planning a side trip to Italy and I am looking for suggestions. If you have any favorite cities, restaurants, must see places please share! I haven’t been to Florence in 7 years and Rome its been 11 so I think I might need to pay them a visit. Plus I have been craving gelato and pasta. A perfect reason for a visit. Well that and the fact that I haven’t explored these two cities with my camera in a while. As the years go by my eye changes and its fun to see the city in a different way.

If you are on instagram and would like to follow you can see my daily photos here @rebeccaplotnick I promise to keep you up to date on my travels through Italy/Paris. This should provide a little armchair travel if you can’t make it to Europe.

Here are a few photos from last years Autumn in Paris:

Venice Blues

2

The island of Burano located about an hour boat ride from Venice is known for their colored houses and lace. The houses were painted different colors so when the sailors came home after a few drinks they could find their house. I was especially drawn to the beautiful blue doorways on this island. Here are a few!

Gift Giving for the one who loves Color!!

1

There are people that absolutely love black and white and there are others such as my Aunt and Uncle who love color. I say this because each room in their house is a different bright color. They crave bright colors! So this post is dedicated to the people that love color in their art. Hopefully you will find a gift they love as much as color!

Sagrada Familia – Gaudi Architecture

1

When I told people I was preparing a visit to Barcelona I was told to visit the works of Gaudi. I wasn’t very familiar with Gaudi until the trip. The last work of Gaudi that has still not been completed is Segrada Familia. It is a large church located in the center of Barcelona. Gaudi died in a tragic accident before the church could be completed. He was a genius architect but kept his designs in his head so it has taken the efforts of many architects from all around the world to finish the church. Its a must see when visiting Barcelona. The cost to enter is around 12 euros.
