New year, new neighborhood. My trip to Paris is just days away and I am looking forward to exploring new streets. I only spent a little time in the 5th last year but here is what will be in my backyard. Not too bad with a garden in your backyard!

Take the metro to the Grenelle stop on a Sunday morning and you will be welcomed with one of the most beautiful and amazing Paris markets. I arrived early in the morning as I had a long agenda of places to go on my Sunday in Paris. There are fish, cheese, olive, meat, and flower vendors lining the street under the metro. I picked up some comte cheese and some fruit and olives for my trip back to Switzerland. I love supporting the local French vendors that stand in the cold on a Sunday morning. If you are in Paris this is a must see!
I fell in LOVE with peonies about a year ago after walking through the Chicago Farmers Market and smelling the amazing fragrance of these beautiful flowers. So my love affair begins with peonies. When I was in France this summer the markets were filled with them at a very fair price. I wish I could bring them home with me! But I did the next best thing I photographed my favorite peonies and here they are to share with you and other peony lovers. They make a great set. All are available on etsy just click the photograph for the direct link to purchase!
Tourists and locals alike gather at the Luxembourg Gardens to relax and spend time with each other. You will find people gathered in green chairs watching the children playing in the water with their boats. Its a beautiful retreat in the city of Paris, France. Around the large pond in the middle kids of all ages will be pushing wooden boats with sticks. This is a favorite past time of Parisians young and old.
My last trip to Paris I didn’t have any rain and was disappointed since rain in Paris makes the city even more magical. Today my first day back in Paris I got more than I asked for. As I walked the streets of Paris down the Champs Elysee, up the Arc de Triumph, and sat in the Jardin du Tulleries it rained all day!! It is my Dad’s first trip to Paris so it was only fitting that he have rain on his first day. The weather here is unusually cold and there are already leaves on the ground. It looks more like Fall here than Summer. I am so happy to be back in Paris.
