Afternoon Light in Burano, Italy

1

Lighting for a photographer is key. My favorite time is early in the morning but right before sunset is a great time for light. Its called the Golden Hour. Everything seems to glow at this time of day. My day in Burano I was so distracted by the beauty that I got lost. Which thank goodness I eventually made my way back to the water but not before getting some great shots.

Busy morning on the Rialto bridge

I love watching the boats move in and out around the Rialto bridge in Venice. Instead of the headache of early morning traffic its calming to watch the boaters move in and out moving people and things in their boats.

The beauty is in the detail

You can spend days in Venice soaking up the views from the Rialto or San Marco but the beauty is in the detail.

Early Morning in Venezia

2

I feel incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to make it to Venice this weekend. I had my mind set on going but the train ride was about 8 hours each way. It was well worth the trip!! I explored the city including Burano with my camera and I can’t wait to share my photographs! It will take me days to edit so please be patient as I post new pictures throughout the week.

I love the gondelier in the right hand corner.
