Hello Summer

5

It was a year ago this time I was in Italy. I spent ten days from the south to the north exploring the country. It was so hard to leave Paris this time but I guess that happens every trip. I arrived to Positano and in my mind was thinking that nothing could feel quite like Paris. That was until I walked along the shore in Positano and when I looked up saw the most amazing view of Positano just as the sun was setting. I surrendered at this point and decided okay Positano you got me! I fell head over heels for this place. I went alone and yes this place is swarming with honeymooning couples so I did feel a little out of place but I let that go quickly. One thing no one told me is that Italy is filled with Jasmine in the summer. Everywhere you turn is just the most fragrant delicious scent. Its intoxicating. You mix this with the smell of the sea and I am just in heaven. It would be my signature scent if I could create one (hint!)

So many people have been asking when I will be back in Paris. The truth is I am not sure of my next trip. I have been in Paris in October the last three years but I don’t know if that will happen this year. I am working on another project that I just pitched that could bring me back to Europe in September. Fingers crossed please!! It would be a dream come true.

But quite honestly this is where I want to be this Summer. Wouldn’t you agree. Sand in my toes, sea salt in my hair and a spritz in my hand. Can you blame me?

Yesterday I picked up a few more items for summer including the most comfortable pair of white jeans ever! A new bathing suit from and a hat for LA!

Falling for Italy

3

It seems like a long time since I have posted. I had ever intention to post more while I was traveling but time got away from me. As seen in the previous posts mornings and evenings were spent chasing the light. Since the sun was out so early in the morning and it set so late at night it meant for very long days. I promise I enjoyed every minute of it. I have so much to fill you in on. But one thing I may have forgotten to mention in all the planning I tacked on an 8 day trip through italy at the end.

I just arrived home to the States to get ready for my big summer show and I am finally able to share a few images from Italy. If you were following along on instagram you would have seen my daily adventures. Here are a few of the highlights from Italy. I promise to share more soon but as you can see I fell hard and fast for Italy. How could you not when the cities smell like jasmine and the sea.

Italy Tour 2015

9

As my Paris plans are finalized I left myself a week in Europe to travel outside of France. I have plans to visit Amsterdam which I will be meeting my Aunt. I am excited as we have both never been. At the end of my trip I have plans to explore more of Italy. I studied abroad in Florence years ago and took two of my best friends to the Amalfi in 2007 but its been so long. I am planning on flying into naples exploring the amalfi coast and then heading up north. I will try to explore as much as possible in a weeks time and eat as much pasta and gelato as I can. If you have any favorite cities/hotels/restaurants in Italy that are absolute musts I would love to hear them. Also Amsterdam recs are welcome too! xo

Adventures of A Red Vespa in Rome

11

A tour through Rome on a beautiful shiny red vespa who could refuse right? I heard about ScooterRoma tours through instagram so I decided to book a tour for the best way to see the city. My Roman Holiday adventure started while Annie arrived via scooter to my airbnb apartment. I immediately told her I was terrified of riding on a vespa and did not tell my family of my adventure until after! She strapped me into a helmet and showed me how to hop on the vespa and hold on tight… off we went! Immediately at the light two handsome men waved as Annie spoke to them in Italian. Does it get any better? Oh wait it does.

A glimpse at Rome

1

My time is Europe is always nonstop. Its a challenge to stop as much as it is in the States. Don’t get me wrong I have had uninterrupted chats with friends over coffee, lunch, glasses of wine the last couple of weeks. Its nice not being completely attached to my iPhone or other electronic devices.

I left my computer back in Paris and my cell phone didn’t have an Italian SIM card so I was catching email when I could walking through the streets of Rome or back at my airbnb apartment.

Paris has been a comfort for me the last few years. I know how to zip around the city by foot or metro and my french is improving. The city feels like a second home more than anything. Italy was my first love and will always be. Its where I first studied abroad and was bit by the travel bug 11 years ago but being back in Italy felt foreign. My first couple of trips to Rome I did not like the city at all. It was filled with graffiti, pick pockets, and lets be honest it wasn’t Florence. Although in the last couple of years it has been calling me back. It took a while but I am glad I decided to go back and give it another go.

To be perfectly honest I arrived on a sunny 80 degree October day in Rome. Palm trees lined the streets with packed cafes serving pasta and cappuccinos on every corner. What’s not to love? I grabbed a chair at the closest busy cafe pulled out a map and a menu and was set to explore.

Here is a little sneak peak into my adventures in Italy on Instagram. I am pretty sure I could live on pizza, pasta, cappuccinos and gelato. More details to come.

Ciao Italia

This past week was packed with adventure, pasta, and scooter riding across Rome. I left my computer back in Paris to lighten the load while traveling so I have been missing in action from the blog. If you are following me on instagram you can follow along with what I have been up to. A little hint… I started a new series and I hope you like it! I already am thinking I need to go back to Italy to add more 😉
