The best baguette in Paris

2

The best baguette in Paris according to me and a few other Parisians. I stumbled upon my favorite spot for a baguette on my biweekly walk to the Bastille market. It is in fact one of the closest boulangeries to the market. There was no line when I passed by which is always an indication of a good boulangerie. I popped in and took a guess on what to order. They had the traditional baguette but I thought the torsadee looked a little less crunch. The thing about ordering a baguette in Paris is you can tell them exactly how you want it. Too cooked for a little crunch or not too cooked. I love this article by David Lebovitz. Of course any other time I have ever visited my favorite boulangerie there has been a line wrapped around. I must have caught it on an off day. But I highly recommend picking one of these up if you are close to Bastille. The address is 28 beaumarchais If you are lucky you may end up with a torsadee or any baguette fresh out of the oven. Heaven!!

Paris Flea Market Finds

7

One of my favorite activities in Paris is walking the puces or flea markets. I prefer the Clignancourt market which is just at the end of line 4 close to Montmartre. I found this very helpful Girls Guide to Paris post which helped me navigate the streets a little better. Two places for food that I enjoy. The first is right when you exit the metro there is a boulangerie. There is a small chance I like this boulangerie for the fact that I had a pain au chocolat right out of the oven. I don’t know the name but there always seems to be a line which is a good indication that its a good place to stop. The other is Paul Bert which is found on Paul Bert street. I love to pop by and have a coffee up at the bar either at the beginning of my walk or midway through. Here are a few pictures from Paul Bert before starting the to look for my Flea Market Finds.

Purple Artichokes in the South of France

I fell in love with Nice, France when I stumbled across the Old City. It was filled with colorful buildings and tiny alleys. In the main center of the Old City was a market filled with fresh vegetables and fruits along with soaps and spices. A chef and photographers dream! I wondered looking at all the colorful produce. These purple artichokes caught my eye. They make great kitchen art too!

Marais Cafe in Blue

I passed this cafe in the Marais in the pouring rain and its blue cafe chairs and decor caught my eye. They were just setting up for the day but I hope to return when they are open for a coffee and an outside seat at this adorable decorated cafe.
