Counting Down to Paris

7

There are less than two weeks until I leave for Paris and I am wrapping up some projects here in the States and getting ready for my trip. So far I have a few trips planned outside of Paris including a weekend in Amsterdam, a trip to a beautiful B&B in the south west of France, and a week in Italy.

marais

Since my first solo trip to Paris in 2010 I have stayed in various arrondissement. The 7th, 16th, 18th,1st, 5th but I always find myself in the Marais. This year I will be staying close to the pompidou just 10 minutes walk to my favorite cafe in the marais and 10 minutes the other direction to rue montorgueil. You may be wondering why I always stay in a different area. The truth is I absolutely love my morning walks. Walking the streets in the early morning with the sun kissing the buildings and streets before everyone is awake is really beautiful. I love exploring hidden streets and courtyards and the more I see of Paris the more surprises I discover. I hope you will join me as I travel to Paris starting April 20th. Picasso Museum Paris Opening

0

Yesterday in Paris the Picasso museum finally reopened after 5 long years. It was also Picasso’s birthday which the perfect day to reopen the museum. I hadn’t planned to go yesterday as I assumed there would be huge crowds and long lines. While walking through the Marais I pretty much stumbled upon the museum. Yes there were crowds but the lady at the front told me the wait would be 90 minutes. I waited longer for the Cartier exhibit in February in the freezing rain. This didn’t seem so bad. Plus it was opening day and if people in the states can wait days for the new iPhone than this wait wasn’t so bad. It ended up being about an hour total and everything went smoothly and the space was well gorgeous. Here are a few shots I got but keep in mind it was terribly busy!

Coffee Table Book ideas

Its been a big goal and dream to have a coffee table for years now. As I travel back and forth to Paris I am putting together some ideas. I have a few that I want to remain quiet but I have a few ideas I can share and would love your feedback. I have thought about doing a series of collections from Paris : bikes , cars, doors, maybe market photos? Here are a few more of the doors I would add to the book:

Weekend in Paris – Autumn

0

I wish I wasn’t still jetlagged but it seems to have gotten the best of me. Since leaving Paris 6 months ago I have been dreaming about coming back. I am here and sometimes it doesn’t feel real. In some ways nothing has changed which is great. But in just 6 months there have been new places that have popped up that I find along my walks. Of course my favorite part is the Fall crisp air and the crunchy leaves on the ground.

Lunch in Paris

0

I recently finished the book “Lunch in Paris” it follows a woman’s love story with her husband and Paris food. Elizabeth fill the book with detailed descriptions of life in Paris and the French food creates and includes amazing recipes after each chapter. If I could have lunch in Paris today this is where I would sit.

Located in the Marais in Paris. I love the cafe chairs, the specials written on the chalkboard and the waiter in the window. Paris Classique!!
