Sunday Morning at the Bastille

3

My Day yesterday continued onto the Bastille market. Its one of my favorite Sunday activities and I hate to miss it. Since I had a later meal with Melissa it was more crowded than I am used to and made it a little more difficult to photograph but of course that didn’t stop me.

The market runs Thursday and Sundays. Thursdays are less crowded but there are more vendors on Sundays. Its located right at the Bastille monument. You can’t miss it!

Bastille Market in Paris

The Bastille Market is becoming one of my favorite places in Paris. It runs on Thursdays and Sundays and is packed with rows of fresh produce and some cooked foods. There are multiple vendors selling fruits and vegetables, cheeses, fresh pastas, and meats. I come here to pick up food for my apartment and usually something for dinner.

The Saxe – Breteuil Market

Since yesterdays market was a little disappointing for picture taking I decided to explore the Saxe- Breteuil market located behind Ecoles- Militaire (eiffel tower area) it was a bit of a hike in the cold but it did not disappoint! The vegetables and fruits were filled with color and I would recommend this market for anyone in the area.

Finding my way

0

I am not new to Paris but new to Montmartre. I have only visited Paris and I have never stayed for a long period of time. In so many different ways I am still finding my way…

There are so many grocery stores and boulangeries I have not picked my favorite yet. Although I love a croissant in the morning I can’t eat one everyday. I think I have found my breakfast of choice. Its about a 15 minute walk each day to a street I like in Montmartre where I think I have found my boulangerie. I will post more about that another time.

It took me two attempts but I finally found Rue Montorgueil. Its a very famous market street that has lots of different food vendors. Its difficult to find but I am glad I finally made it there.

One of my favorite things about this street is the mosaic design done in white. You can see it here with the cafe chairs facing outward. It was a very cold February day but I am sure its great in warmer weather

Thanks for following me as I find my way through Paris. Tomorrow I am looking forward to discovering one of the biweekly markets in my neighborhood

Rue de Grenelle Paris Market

3

Take the metro to the Grenelle stop on a Sunday morning and you will be welcomed with one of the most beautiful and amazing Paris markets. I arrived early in the morning as I had a long agenda of places to go on my Sunday in Paris. There are fish, cheese, olive, meat, and flower vendors lining the street under the metro. I picked up some comte cheese and some fruit and olives for my trip back to Switzerland. I love supporting the local French vendors that stand in the cold on a Sunday morning. If you are in Paris this is a must see!
