Merci Beaucoup Lycee Francais

This weekend I sold my work at the Annual Lycee Francais Chicago Fundraiser. A portion of my sales were donated to the school. This has become one of my favorite shows for a few reasons. Everyone from the school is involved. Parents volunteer with setup and the kids walk around with sandwiches on baguettes and croissants to raise money for the school. The kids impressed with me their french and were so incredibly polite and well behaved. The parents/ customers were so friendly and I even made connections for my upcoming trip to Paris. Merci Beaucoup Lycee Francais! Looking forward to seeing you next year.

My setup on some of the shelves. This features my new wood blocks in a variety of sizes. Most of these were gone by the end of Saturday. You can purchase these in my etsy shop here.

Photography in Pantone

If you haven’t heard the new Pantone color for 2013 is Monaco Blue. Here is a look through pictures at the new color, which is already a favorite of mine!

le couleur bleue

I have always loved black and white photography. I started in the dark room in high school. I would spend hours in the dark room trying to find the perfect contrast of black and white. But lately I have had my eye on color. Last week I did a short color story on canary yellow and today is the color blue. Do you have a favorite color that catches your eye?

Paris in Pink

Paris in Pink! Paris is filled with color. You can find pops of color just about anywhere from  the mailbox to an umbrella. A friend recently asked me to put a collection together of pink photographs from Paris for her office. I thought I would share it with everyone. I would love to know your thoughts! What’s your favorite color?

Happy Fathers Day

I have been lucky enough to spend time with my Dad traveling the past few years. For the past 4 years we have had a tradition of taking a summer trip together. These will always be some of my favorite memories. Our last trip was to Paris where he will never let me forget how much I made him walk! I love to explore Paris on foot and I forgot he wasn’t in his 20’s. We did spend some time relaxing in the Paris parks. Here are a few photos from our trip that remind me of my Dad.

Luxembourg Gardens

Boats in the Tulleries

First off I just want to say thanks for all your wonderful feedback lately. I really love hearing what you guys think!

I have always seen the beautiful wooden boats in Luxembourg Gardens but my most recent trip to Paris I came across them in the Tulleries. I was having a picnic in the Tulleries on a brisk winter morning and I look up to find this adorable older man with a cart full of wooden boats. Which boat would you choose?

In the distance la tour eiffel

My first trip to Paris to photograph I couldn’t wait to explore the city. I set off with my camera and just started walking. When I started to see the eiffel tower I kept following it. Not knowing what streets I was walking down or the easiest way to get there. I just wondered the streets and explored my new surroundings. When I looked up there she was in the distance. I love this photograph because nature and architecture frames the eiffel tower perfectly.
