Watching the Seasons Change in Palais Royal

5

Palais Royal is tucked behind the Louvre and the Tulleries. I used to dismiss it on the map and never made a point to visit. Now, its one of my favorite places in Paris to people watch. This month I was able to watch the seasons change as I walked through the garden. I will treasure these moments and thank goodness for me the pictures will bring me great memories for years to come.

Towards the end of the month they clipped the trees and the leaves were gone.

This week on Instagram

7

Its been an exciting first week in Paris. I have enjoyed exploring my neighborhood meeting with new friends and catching up with old ones. The fall is turning quickly here and its been a mix of sun and rain but I am thrilled to be back. Tomorrow I am off to Roma and exploring Italy. You can find me on instagram as I travel and photograph some of my favorite places.

Autumn Perfection

0

Perfection is hard to achieve but today the weather was pretty much there. I of course always pack an umbrella because you never know when a downpour will happen. I met a new friend at the Bastille market to show him around. Its one of my favorite places if you haven’t read already. Thankfully my friend was up for anything I threw his way. We walked up and down the aisles as I pointed out some of my favorite vendors. Then we started tasting things… I told him that everything tasted better in France. Apples, tomatoes, cheese, even oysters. We tasted it all. His reaction “oh my gosh this is good!!” It of course made me smile knowing that he agreed. We grabbed a few cheeses and my favorite baguette and headed to Place de Vosges. Sitting in the sun it was finally not raining and it felt more like Spring than Fall. Autumn Perfection…

Let the planning begin!

7

The hard stuff is out of the way I am happy to report I found an apartment in a location I am so excited to explore! I have lived in Montmatre for 4 months and the 5th arrondissement for a month and a half and now I am so happy to be able to explore the 2nd arrondissement. I am staying on a small little street behind the Palais Royal.

You may wonder why I chose this location and perhaps some people may think its a little touristy. I am hoping the small street tucked away behind the Palais Royal will bring a little escape and still put me in the center of the city. I was deciding between a Montmatre apartment that I have already stayed in or the current apartment in the 2nd and I literally got goosebumps thinking of walking out and seeing the louvre, the palais royal, and the seine in the early morning light. When I lived in Montmartre I would walk down to the Seine everyday and well to be perfectly honest I was distracted by every little detail, beautiful door, and boulangerie I passed by. I would arrive to the Seine later than anticipated.

Of course I will miss my favorite boulangerie around the corner in Montmartre but I will be closer to one in the Marais. Clearly I have priorities… I cannot wait to catch up with old friends over coffee and walks through the leave filled streets in the autumn. Let’s be honest who wouldn’t love a backyard that looks like this? Someone pinch me…

Paris Market Photos – Kitchen Set

6

If you haven’t figured by now one of my favorite things to do in Paris is to walk the Paris Markets. I don’t have to buy anything I just really love seeing the way they display everything. It really makes me happy to make the markets part of my walks through Paris. I put together this set now available on Etsy of different market photos for some French Kitchen Art

A visit to the Musee D’Orsay

3

The first Sunday of every month in Paris the Museums are free. I took this opportunity to pack in all my museums in one day. I did the Pompidou, the Louvre, and the D’Orsay. Yes, if you are wondering I am exhausted! I have been to the Louvre and the D’Orsay a few times but there are still some undiscovered places that I enjoyed exploring. Here are a few photographs from the D’Orsay
