Pops of Red in Paris

Even on the grayest days in Paris you can find pops of color around the city. One of my favorites and most popular in Paris is the color red. Perhaps I am still in the Valentine’s Day mood but here you go!

Getting Settled in Paris

I am safe and sound in Paris! My flight actually arrived earlier than expected and making it to the apartment was fairly easy. My apartment is located in the 5th arrondisement and brand new. The owners just redid the entire place. It looks amazing and I will be sharing pictures just as soon as I am settled and unpacked. So keep your eyes out. I met up with my friend Melissa at cafe de flore our usual meeting spot for a cafe creme. I am really happy to be back and can’t wait explore tomorrow.

Market flowers in Paris

My favorite market in Paris is the Bastille market close to the Marais. I rode my bike yesterday morning to the market to pick up a few things including flowers. My favorite vendor had a wonderful display and let me snap a few shots.

Finding my way

I am not new to Paris but new to Montmartre. I have only visited Paris and I have never stayed for a long period of time. In so many different ways I am still finding my way…

There are so many grocery stores and boulangeries I have not picked my favorite yet. Although I love a croissant in the morning I can’t eat one everyday. I think I have found my breakfast of choice. Its about a 15 minute walk each day to a street I like in Montmartre where I think I have found my boulangerie. I will post more about that another time.

It took me two attempts but I finally found Rue Montorgueil. Its a very famous market street that has lots of different food vendors. Its difficult to find but I am glad I finally made it there.

One of my favorite things about this street is the mosaic design done in white. You can see it here with the cafe chairs facing outward. It was a very cold February day but I am sure its great in warmer weather

Thanks for following me as I find my way through Paris. Tomorrow I am looking forward to discovering one of the biweekly markets in my neighborhood
