As you might be able to tell from the last post I am doing a lot of thinking and reflecting. These last few weeks have been amazing and a lot of work. I haven’t begun to scratch the surface as far as editing and combing through new images and the holidays are just around the corner. I am truly grateful for each day that I am able to spend traveling. Not to mention the people I have been meeting have been wonderful. Here is a photo from around the corner from my Paris apartment and is one of my favorite parts of walking home.

ok so the truth is its hard to narrow down one thing that is my absolute favorite. People always ask me what my favorite thing to do in Paris and why I return so often. I walk for hours everyday with no agenda, camera in hand. I will stop and try a new boulangerie or meet a friend for coffee which will sometimes lead me in a certain direction for the day. I walk left then right following my eye as Paris leads the way through tiny streets uncovering treasures one by one. If you walk down one street in the early morning it will look completely different at night. A store front will have opened chairs out on the sidewalk or maybe a window catches my eye. The most important is to be observant take in the sights and sounds of the city and let Paris be your guide. Some moments you have to capture quickly as they disappear with the blink of an eye. A bike outside the butcher, a stollen kiss at a cafe, graffiti, or the way the light hits the street. Some moments last longer but I try to take the picture as soon as I see the moment. If you plan to come back on your evening walk it may gone but that is the risk you take. Every walk I discover something new. The more I get lost the more I find my way.
Rue Montorgueil is one of my favorite streets to walk down in Paris. Its just a few blocks but its filled with cafes, boulangeries, and food shops. There is a flower shop at the end of the street that I pretty much drool over every time I walk by. You can easily get food for a picnic or dinner just by visiting this street. Don’t miss Stohrer for the best eclair in Paris!
I can’t believe that 3 months flew by so quickly. I enjoyed every moment in Paris. The freezing cold, the snow, the rain, and the sunshine. When asked what my favorite thing about Paris was it was my daily walks with my camera. Mostly in the early morning when the city was quiet. I can’t wait to go back…
My first visitor left early this morning and I was so tempted to nap. The weather was just too nice after the cold days we have had. I want to enjoy everyday to the fullest so I pushed through. I walked from the Eiffel tower to Marais.
I spent a lot of my time walking under the bridges along the Seine. The lines on this bridge caught my eye and then this older older gentlemen came into my frame. He was way more interesting than the empty bridge and my camera followed him…
May you have a wonderful weekend wherever you are!
