Fete de la Chandeleur – French Crepe Day

1

If you visit Paris you will find street vendors selling crepes all over the city. They are at the eiffel tower, the Marais and there are a bunch on every corner in Montmartre. Two years ago arrived in Paris for my original 3 months stay and was thrilled to find out it was French Crepe Day. If I could love the city any more on a cold February day they celebrate the eating of crepes with a holiday? Sign me up! I celebrated a day early yesterday with my friends Alexis and Bree and their adorable babies. My favorite it banana and nutella. What’s yours?

Red Balloons Paris Continued

11

I loved the red balloon project that I started late last year in Paris. Continuing the red balloon project in the winter/spring had its challenges because there were very few days where the weather was not windy/rainy/too cold. I was able to get out for a little bit with the balloons to continue the series. It still amazes me how the simple object of a red balloon can bring so much joy to people’s faces.

Cafe Life in Paris in Black and White

15

Cafes are a big part of Paris life. Apartments are small and Parisians spend a good amount of their time at local cafes. People watching at cafes can last hours on end as there are always new characters and the wardrobes are pretty fantastic. Paris feels like walking on a never ending movie set.

Pretty in Pink – Paris

The days in Paris are longer with daylight savings time which makes me so happy! The only thing that would be better if the weather felt like Spring (and I could stay longer!)

Snowy day in Montmartre

I woke up to a little snow that has continued throughout the day. It has been a messy wet and windy snowy day but that didn’t stop me. … Paris in the snow is Magical!

Au Petit Fer A Cheval

3

I first stumbled upon this little cafe a year ago on my walk through the Marais. I photographed it because of all its charm but didn’t go inside. This time while spending more time in Paris I made it a point to go back and find the cafe. Au Petit Fer A Cheval means “little horseshoe” in French. The inside bar is shaped like a horseshoe. The place is petit. I passed it a few times without even realizing it. But this is one of the reasons why it has so much character. If you can find a seat at the bar you can eat or drink. They serve a reasonably priced menu and serve coffee and wine. There is seating outside but its limited. If you get the chance there is also a few tables to sit and dine behind the bar. If you are walking through the Marais I highly recommend it.
