Good Fortune

12

I promise to continue my series of Solo Travel later this week but I wanted to share this little bit of good news. Last week I spoke to Fortune.com about my etsy business. 86% of people that sell on etsy are female. Luckily they decided to chat with me for a little about my story. Of course only a small snip bit made it into the article but I thought I would share.

I am a big dreamer but in my wildest dreams dreams I never thought I would make it to a fortune.com article. I guess it shows you if you think BiG you get BIG!! Click here to read the Fortune.com article.

Adventures of A Red Vespa in Rome

11

A tour through Rome on a beautiful shiny red vespa who could refuse right? I heard about ScooterRoma tours through instagram so I decided to book a tour for the best way to see the city. My Roman Holiday adventure started while Annie arrived via scooter to my airbnb apartment. I immediately told her I was terrified of riding on a vespa and did not tell my family of my adventure until after! She strapped me into a helmet and showed me how to hop on the vespa and hold on tight… off we went! Immediately at the light two handsome men waved as Annie spoke to them in Italian. Does it get any better? Oh wait it does.

A glimpse at Rome

1

My time is Europe is always nonstop. Its a challenge to stop as much as it is in the States. Don’t get me wrong I have had uninterrupted chats with friends over coffee, lunch, glasses of wine the last couple of weeks. Its nice not being completely attached to my iPhone or other electronic devices.

I left my computer back in Paris and my cell phone didn’t have an Italian SIM card so I was catching email when I could walking through the streets of Rome or back at my airbnb apartment.

Paris has been a comfort for me the last few years. I know how to zip around the city by foot or metro and my french is improving. The city feels like a second home more than anything. Italy was my first love and will always be. Its where I first studied abroad and was bit by the travel bug 11 years ago but being back in Italy felt foreign. My first couple of trips to Rome I did not like the city at all. It was filled with graffiti, pick pockets, and lets be honest it wasn’t Florence. Although in the last couple of years it has been calling me back. It took a while but I am glad I decided to go back and give it another go.

To be perfectly honest I arrived on a sunny 80 degree October day in Rome. Palm trees lined the streets with packed cafes serving pasta and cappuccinos on every corner. What’s not to love? I grabbed a chair at the closest busy cafe pulled out a map and a menu and was set to explore.

Thank you NYC

2

This past long weekend I was in NYC for meetings and to photograph one of my favorite cities. I kept a very busy schedule but was able to meet up with some friends that were so kind to show me their city. I had a little time on the weekend to spend catching up with my Aunt and Uncle where my Aunt cooked the most amazing ravioli from scratch. I napped in the hammock while the sunset and we spent hours in the kitchen catching up while we cooked. I have a lot of catching up to do with getting out orders and editing in my free time. I hope to share some photos of my favorite places soon!

Framed work now available on Etsy

3

I try my best to offer my customers as many options as possible. I created the wood blocks as a way for customers to take pieces home and hang them right away. The frustration I have found with buying art is finding a frame, getting it framed, and hanging it! There are so many roadblocks to getting the piece on the wall. I offer wood blocks and canvas ready to hang along with prints in various sizes to let my customers have the creative freedom to frame them how they wish.

I recently partnered with a company called Simply Framed to offer framing options to my photography. Customers will have the option to frame with or without a mat. Framing color options include silver, gold, white, or black. The pieces come ready to hang out of the box. Visit my Etsy shop to purchase

First stop in Paris?

7

I leave for Paris a week from today which means I am packing and getting organized. Camera, lenses, warm clothes ect.. I have been living out of a suitcase for over a year. I am ready for my next adventure. Paris has been a second home for me over the last year and I can’t wait to be back. I have a few places to visit right away that will make me feel like home and of course I can’t wait to see my friends. But first thing I will need a baguette and a cafe creme. You can follow my daily adventures on Instagram If you would like me to visit any favorite places I would love to hear them. Thank you for those who have already sent some my way 🙂
