I loved my daily walk through Montmartre with my camera and baguette in hand each morning. Rain or shine I would venture out. I lived off of Boulevard de Rochechouart which was busy and with the train passing by it was not too quiet. I found this quaint cobble stone street off the busy Boulevard that caught my eye.

A little more than 10 years ago I decided to study abroad. I wanted and applied to study in Paris and my Dad told me NO! So I switched to study abroad in Florence. At that point in my life I didn’t have a choice and I am not complaining! My Dad likes to remind me that it all worked out in the end… I get to “study” abroad this year in Paris 😉
10 years ago almost exactly to the day I left for London and then off to Siena a small town in Tuscany. My school sent us here for 3 weeks intensive language in Italian before moving to Florence. In Siena there is a square in the middle of the town called Piazza del Campo. My friends and I climbed the many stairs to the top for the breathtaking view of the town. It is here where I fell in love with Italy… My passion for Italy grew over the next couple months as I traveled throughout the country from the North to the South. I made great friends that semester and I am so grateful for the opportunity.
It was after my semester abroad that I decided I wanted to do what I love (travel and take pictures) and find a way to make a living at it. 6 years almost exactly I opened my etsy shop. I would like to say the rest is history, but that would be way to easy! Its been a lot of hard work, sweat, and tears to get me where I am today. Looking forward to Paris in 2013 and THE BEST IS YET TO COME!!

Thank you so much to everyone that stopped by the booth at OOAK this weekend! It was an action packed weekend. Sunday was especially busy with a packed booth and we even had a line to check out. Some items including the el stairs did sell out but I am busy making more and they are available for purchase on etsy. Here are some pictures from the weekend.
I have a few favorite places to stay in Paris. Last year I stayed in the Opera district and really loved it. What I loved about the area was the distance to the Louvre and Tulleries and also I was able to explore the Opera district on foot. I admired the Opera from the outside but the inside is even more beautiful!
When people travel to Paris, the Eiffel tower is a top destination on their list. If you don’t prebuy your tickets you can stand in line for hours waiting to get to the top. I will admit I have been there. The sunset at the top is beautiful! But I think one of the best views is from the Arc de Triumph especially the Paris rooftops. There are a few other views I have on my list for February. Where is your favorite view of Paris?
Happy Thanksgiving to you All! Thanks for following. Everything in my etsy shop with be 25% off on November 23 – 26.
This weekend I sold my work at the Annual Lycee Francais Chicago Fundraiser. A portion of my sales were donated to the school. This has become one of my favorite shows for a few reasons. Everyone from the school is involved. Parents volunteer with setup and the kids walk around with sandwiches on baguettes and croissants to raise money for the school. The kids impressed with me their french and were so incredibly polite and well behaved. The parents/ customers were so friendly and I even made connections for my upcoming trip to Paris. Merci Beaucoup Lycee Francais! Looking forward to seeing you next year.
My setup on some of the shelves. This features my new wood blocks in a variety of sizes. Most of these were gone by the end of Saturday. You can purchase these in my etsy shop here.
