Exploring the Chicago Art Museum

0

Last week I explored the Chicago Art Museum with my intern Zoey. We tried to be on our best behavior jumping from one room of French Impressionist to the next. We were shooting these photographs and were interrupted by one of the security guards but instead of getting in trouble she suggested we check out a nearby degas sculpture. She was kind enough to take a photo of the two of us at the museum.

When I was young my Grandmother had an entire collection of watches. She wore them for all types of occasions dressy and casual. She always had a watch on and gum in the front pocket of her purse. Since using an iPhone for so long I stopped wearing a watch a few years back. Recently I have had my eye on the new Daniel Wellington watch and since it arrived in the mail I haven’t taken it off. The one I selected has a rose gold accents with blue hands. Navy is one of my signature colors so I was so happy to see the blue and gold color combination. The name of the watch I selected is the Dapper Sheffield and I switch between a black band and a brown band that matches my Madewell tote that I carry everywhere.

The watch is easy to dress up or wear with casual looks. I am thrilled to be able to start my watch collection with Daniel Wellington

I loved exploring the art museum here in Chicago. Its been a while and the museum felt like I was back in Paris. They even had green chairs in the garden that made me feel like I was back in the Tuileries. Stay tuned for more from the museum on the new blog www.everydayparisian.com

Oui Please – French at your Doorstep

I recently found the website Oui Please  through Instagram  What I loved about Oui Please is that it curates French based products and brings them right to your doorstep in the US or Canada. Since I have moved back to the States I am always looking for French products to keep at home and this seemed like the best solution. Each box has a different theme. The one that I received was Joie de Vivre which had a bunch of different Paris based designers and products.

Everything comes packaged in this adorable black box that you can use again. I have already reused it on my nightstand. Its wrapped beautifully and inside you find all of your french themed goodies.

I got the newest Kusmi tea that is perfect for summer on ice. Boissier candies that are delicious along with three french designed bracelets, perfume, lingerie, and so much more. Seriously this box was busting at the seams with French goodies.

The Oui Please Box comes with a little magazine with a guide to everything in the box and the history behind the brands. There is also an article on 20 Steps to Recreate Summer in France. From everything to Sitting a a cafe to visiting an art museum.

The adorable leather box that the package came in now sits on my nightstand with flowers. I can keep whatever I wish inside and it makes a great home accessory. For more details on signing up for Oui Please look here.

Paris – A State of Mind

8

You hear it so often in a New York State of Mind. I think I am constantly in a Paris State of Mind. I have had a few projects in the US including LA and Chicago that have taken me away from my true love of Paris. My biggest project is Paris based and I am pretty darn excited about it. So for now if you don’t mind I will be in a Paris State of Mind until further notice. I hope you will join me!

Beverly Hills Hotel

0

I talked earlier about creating content for luxury hotels and while I was in LA I was able to tour two and stay at one. Let’s just say staying at the Beverly Hills Hotel was a huge dream. I mean its absolutely gorgeous and every detail and thought of its pretty incredible. I walked into my room and I think I cried tears of happiness. The full tour was on snapchat. If you aren’t on you must start following. Its not just for teenagers but businesses create 24 hour stories.

My little terrace had a wall full of Jasmine and I was in absolute heaven with the smell!! I was so happy to find this after writing about missing the jasmine in Italy

There are 12 acres that make up the property grounds of the Beverly Hills Hotel and it is all as pretty as this spot!

Everything had the Beverly Hills Logo on it. Including the champagne! They left these cherries and chocolates for me to snack on and I couldn’t resist enjoying them on the jasmine filled balcony. Can you blame me?!

I am extremely lucky to have had the opportunity to visit The Beverly Hills Hotel with Grand Luxury this past weekend! If you get the chance to stay here you must book!

Hello Summer

5

It was a year ago this time I was in Italy. I spent ten days from the south to the north exploring the country. It was so hard to leave Paris this time but I guess that happens every trip. I arrived to Positano and in my mind was thinking that nothing could feel quite like Paris. That was until I walked along the shore in Positano and when I looked up saw the most amazing view of Positano just as the sun was setting. I surrendered at this point and decided okay Positano you got me! I fell head over heels for this place. I went alone and yes this place is swarming with honeymooning couples so I did feel a little out of place but I let that go quickly. One thing no one told me is that Italy is filled with Jasmine in the summer. Everywhere you turn is just the most fragrant delicious scent. Its intoxicating. You mix this with the smell of the sea and I am just in heaven. It would be my signature scent if I could create one (hint!)

So many people have been asking when I will be back in Paris. The truth is I am not sure of my next trip. I have been in Paris in October the last three years but I don’t know if that will happen this year. I am working on another project that I just pitched that could bring me back to Europe in September. Fingers crossed please!! It would be a dream come true.

But quite honestly this is where I want to be this Summer. Wouldn’t you agree. Sand in my toes, sea salt in my hair and a spritz in my hand. Can you blame me?

Yesterday I picked up a few more items for summer including the most comfortable pair of white jeans ever! A new bathing suit from and a hat for LA!

A little update on what I have been up to

5

When I first moved back to Chicago and finally had my own place the ideas kept coming to me like crazy. I finally felt creative for the first time in a while. I still wanted to travel but decided to take things to a different level. I have been active on Instagram for a while now and wanted to create content for hotel groups. If I wasn’t renting an apartment for months at a time I had stay in hotels. So why not trade hotel stays for photographs? I had a few ideas of hotels I wanted to work with which I will get to in a different post because I dreamt it and then I actually made it happen. Its been a bit crazy!

In January I traveled to Paris for 6 nights and stayed with a group of hotels. Two nights in each property. So many people ask for hotel suggestions in Paris and I am working on putting together a list but here is the first one called Plaza Tour Eiffel The location is just around from the trocadero and you can catch the sunset or sunrise from this beautiful spot. I recommend sunrise since you won’t be bombarded with as many people. The room had a view of the eiffel tower and little balcony.

I was welcomed with a box of the most beautiful and delicious macarons from Carette. They went quickly but you can’t blame me can you?!

The most stunning rooftop views from the little terrace. The hotel is perfect situated by the metro and there is trocadero square to grab a coffee or lunch at one of the many cafes.
