Romantic streets of Provence

2

Aix en Provence is a quick train ride from Marseille, France. It is a beautiful small town with markets selling linens and fountains everywhere. I loved this quiet street I found while getting lost in this Romantic town. If you are close by put it on your list to visit! Go early so you can visit the many markets and grab lunch in the main square. It won’t disappoint!

Romantic Windows in the French Riviera

0

The French Riviera is filled with winding roads and romantic balconies. There is so much I love about this photograph the warm peachy color and the mint green shutters. I also love that top window that is open with the white drape. A cool summer breeze comes to mind. What strikes you the most in this photograph?

Pretty in Pink

Walk the streets of Burano, Italy just off of Venice and you will be amazed at all of the beautiful color. Each house is a different color and uniquely different. The residents of Burano really put thought and care into their front doorsteps. I came across this house that had pink paint chipping away against the building. It reminds me that the beauty is in the detail. Don’t forget to stop and enjoy the small things in life.

Discovering Geneva

1

A quick train ride away from Luassane is Geneva. A friend from high school is living here so we met for lunch. After lunch I set off to discover the back streets of Geneva. I loved this quaint street with bikes parked outside of each door. Although it wasn’t the door or the bike that caught my attention, its the green shutters.

The Swiss Life

7

I arrived safely in Switzerland yesterday. I took a train from Zurich to Baden, a small town 20 minutes away. I was surprised to find that there was no snow and it was much warmer than Chicago. I am staying with a friend of mine for the next couple weeks so its a little different than staying in a hotel for a few nights at a time. I decided to venture out this morning to pick up a few things from the grocery store. The language barrier was a bit difficult but I managed my way. Today turned out to be very rainy and windy (it feels a little like the Wizard of Oz) Just a few photos to show the area I am staying in. I can’t wait to explore the old town of Baden tomorrow.

Paris morning

When walking the streets of Paris its always important to look up and around you. You never know what you might miss. I love the composition of this photograph with the ivy and the buildings. Its classic Paris!

An afternoon stroll through Switzerland

1

Just 3 hours by train from Paris is Switzerland. I have friends that just recently moved close to Zurich so we met for an afternoon during my trip to Paris. It feels like Europe but so different from Paris and France all together. There were a few language barriers and I was surprised it costs to use the bathroom everywhere. Joy and Christof took my Dad and me for a wonderful walk through the Old City. I am still dreaming about the pretzels and chocolate. I can’t wait to go back and visit again!!
