Summer Vacation

3

Remember the days when you were young and you had a summer vacation? Time scheduled in the year where you didn’t have to go to school and you could sleep in and stay up late with your friends? I miss those days as an adult! I would say more so now that I run my own business because its hard to schedule a day off. On my recent trip to California I made sure to schedule in a day of freedom. One day of summer vacation… I attempted to sleep in and then hit the beach. I sat in the sand while enjoying my lunch (lobster tacos) yum! Before long it was time to pack up and head back to Chicago.

What are your plans for Summer Vacation? Even if its just a day make sure to schedule one before the weather turns. I am glad I did!

Cannes Film Festival

0

I was lucky to be in the French Riviera last year in the time of the Cannes Film Festival. I hopped on a train and off I went to explore Cannes. I have been before but it is a whole different city without the festival. The city was packed with people having parties in big white tents. But what I quickly learned is that I needed a special badge to get in. Something I didn’t have access to. I strolled up and down the main street and took in the sights. If you get a chance to visit you should go and explore!

The Red Umbrella – Le Parapluie Rouge

5

The Red Umbrella or in French Le Parapluie Rouge. One of my favorite images from my most recent trip to Paris was an early morning in the Marais. It was raining and the cobblestone streets were wet and shiny from the rain and when I looked up the streets were empty except for a couple walking in front of me with an umbrella. The umbrella was rainbow and really popped in the photograph because everything else was very soft. One of my favorite customers asked if the umbrella could be red. With a little help from a friend, the umbrella turned red! Voila!!

Paris Romance in the Rain

0

There is something about rain in Paris that just makes everything so much better. If you have experienced a rain in Paris you know what I am talking about. I was having a conversation with someone on this cold rainy weekend in Paris and the woman said its just so Parisian for it to rain. I woke up early in the morning and left to walk the streets without an umbrella. I was wondering the streets in the Marais when it started to rain. I did my best to keep my camera dry but I didn’t want to go inside. I found this couple walking arm and arm with an umbrella. I pulled my camera up as they kissed. I missed the kiss by just a second but you can still feel the romance in the air. I love the Paris street they are walking down, the bike on the right, the love in the air, and the rain. Its just so Paris!!

Rainy Day at the Louvre

1

Last Easter I was in Paris, I was only in Paris for 8 days and I thought everything was going to be closed on Easter. Much to my surprise I was wrong! I was so happy that the city was alive and open on Easter Sunday. I spent the day on a bike ride tour through the city. The afternoon was spent at the Louvre. The line was the longest people had seen in years. It was the first Sunday of the month which meant the Louvre was FREE. I was standing in the courtyard of the Louvre and all of the sudden there was a huge hail storm. The long lines of people that were in line at the Louvre were caught in the storm. Of course this was a perfect opportunity for me to capture the moment. I stood without an umbrella in the courtyard being pounded by hail while I took these photographs. Happy Easter and Enjoy!
