The best way to see Venice is to take a vaporetto along the Grand Canal. You can get a day pass or a weekend pass depending how long you will be visiting. I recommend sitting in the back (even if its cold) and watching the canal fly by as you go from stop to stop. If you have time I would ride on one side and then next time sit on the opposite side. There is just too much to see to take it all in on one ride.
Walk the streets of Burano, Italy just off of Venice and you will be amazed at all of the beautiful color. Each house is a different color and uniquely different. It reminds me that the beauty is in the detail. Don’t forget to stop and enjoy the small things in life.
