My day with La Cuisine Paris was not complete without a walk around the grounds of Versailles. We were very lucky that the tour buses were gone and the people started to clear out. The afternoon light was beautiful as you will see from some of these photos. I never thought of visiting Versailles on a Friday afternoon but it worked out perfectly. I was walking the grounds until they shut the gates.

My trip to Versailles with La Cuisine Paris was a full day including a tour of the Potager du Roi, a visit to the Versailles market where we picked up delicious cheeses, a four course meal including a cheese course (from the market), and a ticket to explore Versailles.
While walking through the town of Versailles I shot these beautiful blue doors. The town is just a short train ride away from Paris and even if you don’t visit the Chateau the town is beautiful!

I will be doing a few different posts about Versailles because it cannot all fit into one. If you have walked the grounds of Versailles you will understand this. The palace of Versailles has over 700 rooms. This past visit that I made in August didn’t even show us 100 of the rooms. They are all more grand than the next. Every detail is paid attention to, even the luxurious gold door hinges.
I had the opportunity to stay close to the Opera House this trip to Paris. I have seen a lot of Paris but I have never explored inside the Opera House until this last trip. There was one room that blew me away that I wanted to share with you. To me its close to comparison to the Hall of Mirrors in Versailles. Which room do you prefer?
