Paris Reflection

4

I spent a lot of time walking the streets of Paris today. If I told you everywhere I was today by foot it will exhaust you! I am finally resting my feet and camera for another full day tomorrow. Here are a few of my favorites from today.

Ready to Ride on the Seine

2

One of my favorite memories of my 3 months in Paris was my night ride by the Seine on a Vespa. Thankfully I wasn’t driving because I have never been on a Vespa before. It was freezing but I loved every minute of it. Watching the city all lit up was breathtaking. Hop on a Red Vespa and get ready to ride!

I love the vespas in Europe but I admit I am to scared to drive one! Instead I photographed them while traveling Europe. If I had my choice I would probably own a white one and ride the streets of Italy. Which color would you drive? Rainy Day in Paris

1

My last trip to Paris I didn’t have any rain and was disappointed since rain in Paris makes the city even more magical. Today my first day back in Paris I got more than I asked for. As I walked the streets of Paris down the Champs Elysee, up the Arc de Triumph, and sat in the Jardin du Tulleries it rained all day!! It is my Dad’s first trip to Paris so it was only fitting that he have rain on his first day. The weather here is unusually cold and there are already leaves on the ground. It looks more like Fall here than Summer. I am so happy to be back in Paris.

Cannes Film Festival 2011

0

I am extremely lucky to have planned my trip to the French Riviera during the time of the Cannes Film Festival. Cannes is just a quick train ride away from Nice and not too expensive. Several people warned me not to go because it would be too crowded but that didn’t scare me away. I rode the train alongside Canadians and Australians all going to see what the buzz was about. Unfortunately I did not have a lanyard for the Festival so I didn’t get to enjoy all of the festivities of this popular event. I did however get to see the city transformed for the yearly event. I have been to Cannes in the past and the city looked completely different. Even the carousel took on a different look covered in movie posters for the event.

Outside the entrance to the red carpet of the festival are the handprints of famous film stars

Everywhere you look there were advertisements for upcoming movies even on the sides of famous hotels

Rainy Day at the Louvre

1

Last Easter I was in Paris, I was only in Paris for 8 days and I thought everything was going to be closed on Easter. Much to my surprise I was wrong! I was so happy that the city was alive and open on Easter Sunday. I spent the day on a bike ride tour through the city. The afternoon was spent at the Louvre. The line was the longest people had seen in years. It was the first Sunday of the month which meant the Louvre was FREE. I was standing in the courtyard of the Louvre and all of the sudden there was a huge hail storm. The long lines of people that were in line at the Louvre were caught in the storm. Of course this was a perfect opportunity for me to capture the moment. I stood without an umbrella in the courtyard being pounded by hail while I took these photographs. Happy Easter and Enjoy!
