I have spent every season in Paris. Between trips back and forth over the years I have covered them all. I have spent more time in Paris during some seasons and less in others, Winter being the longest season. I didn’t plan it that way it has just happened. The city changes so much from season to season. During the Winter its mostly locals and a few tourists. Its one of my favorite times to be in the city. You rarely have to fight crowds, you can usually find a spot on the terrace under the heater at a a cafe, and the city looks different without all the greenery. You can actually see the rooftops and the haussman buildings along the seine. As Springtime comes those trees fill with buds and bright green leaves pretty quickly. Here are a few of my favorite winter scenes in Paris.

This past year I was lucky enough to spend four months in Paris. When I would explain to friends and family about my experience over the four months is that I experienced Paris in the freezing cold, snow, rain, beautiful Spring, and the Fall. Every type of weather and season is so different in Paris. Most people visit Paris in Spring/Summer because the flowers, the warmer weather and summer vacation. Winter and Fall were a time of year a lot of people didn’t get to experience. It is equally beautiful and I actually prefer it over the warmer months. I started working on a project pulling pictures of Paris from the different seasons. Its my hope and dream to one day put this in a book. Here is a little peak of Luxembourg Gardens in the Winter and Autumn.

Do you ever wonder what Paris looks like in the Winter? Today I headed to Luxembourg Gardens to see how it compared to other seasons. Surprisingly there were still people there doing the same activities they do other times of the year. Kids were playing in the garden, tennis matches were taking place, people were lounging reading in the gardens, and of course the chess players were still there. Here are a few photos from the day.
