Paris Flea Market Finds

7

One of my favorite activities in Paris is walking the puces or flea markets. I prefer the Clignancourt market which is just at the end of line 4 close to Montmartre. I found this very helpful Girls Guide to Paris post which helped me navigate the streets a little better. Two places for food that I enjoy. The first is right when you exit the metro there is a boulangerie. There is a small chance I like this boulangerie for the fact that I had a pain au chocolat right out of the oven. I don’t know the name but there always seems to be a line which is a good indication that its a good place to stop. The other is Paul Bert which is found on Paul Bert street. I love to pop by and have a coffee up at the bar either at the beginning of my walk or midway through. Here are a few pictures from Paul Bert before starting the to look for my Flea Market Finds.

A Day at the Beach in Santa Monica

0

The beach was packed on fourth of July in Santa Monica. There were lots of colorful umbrellas to keep in the shade and kids laughing as they play in the water. A perfect beach day in Santa Monica. Take a break from the beach and check out on the boardwalk game and carnival treats and rides!

Surfs up in California

1

One of the top things on my list to see while I was out in California was the surfers. I never swam in the ocean as a child, I always chose the pool over the beach. I am regretting it these days. If I had gotten over my fear of jellyfish, sharks, and the salt water at a young age maybe I would attempt to try to surf now. Instead I watched the surfers this trip. I sat on the beach for hours watching them move in and out of the waves. The sounds and smell of the ocean made if for a very relaxing afternoon. I am sure I will post many more photographs of surfers but here is a taste for now. Surfs up in California!

Chasing the Sun in San Francisco

2

My weekend was filled with exploring the city of San Francisco. I have never photographed the city before and it involved a lot of walking. I took a boat to Sausilito and when I returned to the bay the sun was setting. I ran in and out of different buildings and hotels looking for a great view of the city. I was able to get this shot of the Huntington hotel and the Golden Gate Bridge in the background. The couple having a drink at the table was kind enough to let me crash their table so I could sneak this shot.

classic Burano Italy

If you haven’t visited Burano, Italy you should check it out on your next visit to Venice, Italy.  Its a quick boat ride away from Venice and well worth it. The houses are all different colors and everyone takes pride in their house. The windows and doors are decorated to match the houses. I came across this house that had the laundry hanging outside and the bike parked out front. Classic Burano, Italy
